STARTED MARCH 2026 : another scarf

FINISHED APRIL 2026 !

Can't stop making scarves !!! I made sort of a Sophie scarf (sort of because I'm too cheap to buy the pattern so I just winged it).

I had only one skein of this really great discontinued wool and was looking for one skein projects. Also I wanted to protect my neck because I caught the flu, and my big green favorite scarf was too big to wear at work. I got really good at making discreet inscreases and decreases ! However I'm wondering if I should add an edge, maybe in another shade ?

STARTED JANUARY 2026 : a green scarf

FINISHED MARCH 2026 !

This is my first knitting project ever ! I made a long scarf, in stockinette stitch and with ribbed ends.

My mom gave me this yarn a few years ago. It came in a shawl kit but I don't wear shawls. Instead of storing the yarn and feeling guilty about not using it I thought I'd make something out of it and a scarf seemed like a perfect beginner project to figure out tension, pace, begginer stitches... I love it because I don't have to count stitches so I can just mindlessly knit while watching my girlfriend play the witcher 3.

STARTED SEPTEMBER 2025 : an orange curtain

FINISHED THE DAY OF !

I was storing all my clothes in cardboard boxes for a while because furniture is expensive and I got really sick of staring at them every morning. What's not expensive is thrift store curtains though!

My gf bought me this plain orange gingham curtain, it was just wide enough to cover the opening of our closet. I cut the lenght just right, and took the leftover fabric to create ruffles. I then added trim and curtain hooks, and installed a shower curtain cable because I found one for free. I wish it was a bit wider and longer so that it would drape better but honestly looking at a cute curtain every morning is 1000% better than staring at a pile of clothes, even if it's a bit small.

STARTED JULY 2025 : doilies

STILL ONGOING

I make doilies when I'm bored. Thin yarn is cheap and abundant in thrift stores, and tiny stitches relax me. I'll add some other pictures in the future but for now this one's my favorite so it's the one I'm adding in ! Enjoy !

STARTED SEPTEMBER 2024 : My chair #mychair

FINISHED AUGUST 2025 !

It all started when I found this chair on the street :

It was caked in candle wax and also shit and alcohol, I can't really describe the smell it had when I picked it up from the street. I gave it a thourough bath when I came home with it and stripped off all the fake leather and foam. I then scrubbed my whole bathroom and also myself intensely. Then it sat in the corner of my girlfriend's appartment for almost a year till we moved in together !

When I got over my "I want to do nothing but rot away and die" slump, I finally bought all the materials in the summer of 2025. I needed nails and foam, since I already had everything I needed to treat the wood (I should make a woodworking room in my house now that I think about it). I also already had the fabric in the form of a gorgeous skirt I thrifted but never wore. I had no prior experience in reupholstering but I suffer from the "how hard can it be ?" disease so I didn't even bother looking up tutorials or anything and went with my gut.

Thus it began : I sanded and stained the wood, cut the fabric (very stressful step), stuck the foam down to the frame, and finally hand-stitched everything together !

Here it is in all its beauty !! Now everytime someone comes to my place I have them sit on it and tell me how beautiful and comfortable it is (at gunpoint if need be). I'm very proud of it.

Here are some details. Please appreciate them!

I have many more projects to add still, updates should come soon :)
